Does anyone know of a way to experience slavery....?

I am doing a paper of slavery as a tourist industry and was wondering if there were any form of experimental education out there. A similar example would be the 30 hour famine where students raise money to donate and in the meantime starve themselves for 30 hours so they can feel what the hungry feel. I am guessing there is no equivalent example for tourists getting on a slave ship or going on a plantation and experiencing a mild account of what the slaves went through, but if there are such things can you please post something.
