Will treating my car with Techron fuel additive or another quality additive clean my fuel sending unit?

check engine light came on and indicated fuel level sending unit issue, maybe by adding this to a couple tanks of gas then re-connecting the battery will fix the problem? 02 ford mustang 3.8L
