Can a tenant take dog items from my room even though there is a no pet policy when he hasnt seen a dog.?

I live in a rental property in Boulder where the lease states I am not to have any pets. I was out of town and my tenant went into my room while showing the house. He has never seen a dog at the house, but there was dog food, a kennel, and other dog related items. He took everything without talking to me first. Can he do that even though he has never seen a dog on the premises? And to all of his knowledge the dog items could be a friends of mine.
