Is Obama's attempt to back the US off from 'us and them-ism' regarding Islam a good thing or a bad thing?

kudos to the guy for making the effort. more than bush ever did. however i still fail to be one of those "obama is savior" muslims. as someone in egypt said "hes just a prettier face" ..lol.. the policies arent any different, and hes perhaps even more in love with israel and their illegal war crime policies than the bush admin
