Mobile Internet, where do I find it, what do I buy? (not a laptop). Is it functional? Is it reliable? speed?

Blackberries are useful for reading emails but not so good for replying. I would prefer Sprint wireless service if it was me. My coworkers all use blackberries for short msgs and to keep an eye on email. Bad thing is PCnet cards use battery much faster.
