Need to make some paving slabs level- how do I lift the slabs?

What tools do i use to life some of the slabs on a patio so to make them level underneath? I guess I will have to replace all the grouting? Knock it off an put new stuff in? Also the slabs are heavy how do i lift them and move them not to injure myself?
