Sorry, how long are drink driving points active for?

I guess they run from day of court appearance untill ? 10 years 11 to be removed & how long befor insurance gets of your case? Not all convictions for d.d. mean one was a legless idiot, mine was the following day and barely scd in which was born out by a 6 mth ban & no fine, �40 pounds court costs. I did fail though so ipso fatso. Thank you (+;
